"Moms Like Me" Likes Bottoms Up Baby Wipes!

Thursday, December 10, 2009 by Lesley Mattos
The internet can be an amazing resource for moms these days.  It can also be a big help for a company like Bottoms Up that is just getting started and trying to get the word out about their brand new eco friendly baby wipes!

MomsLikeMe.com is a national organization that allows local moms to connect and share experiences about being both a mom and a woman.  And one of the things that got shared by one of the moms in the Los Angeles group just recently was the Bottoms Up reusable, all natural, cloth baby wipe kit!

Said this SoCal mom, "So I was a bit skeptical about reusable baby wipes.  But I have to admit, this kit is pretty cool.  It contains two containers (one for clean and one for dirty wipes), and you prep the clean ones with essential oils.  When you use a wipe, you just stick it in the sack [in the dirty container with more essential oils] and when it's full, you throw the whole thing into the washer.  Pretty easy and convenient!"

Back in the dark ages when I was having my kids, the closest thing we had to a site like MomsLikeMe.com was the group of 5 or 6 moms that would get together with their kids in tow for lunch every Wednesday at someone's house.  Sometimes there would be as many as 15 kids ranging from infants to toddlers.  Alot different experience than reading/chatting online!

Cleaning up those "big messes" with cloth wipes

Tuesday, October 27, 2009 by Jovanni Ishaan

As moms or babysitters or grandmas we've all changed one of "those" diapers and we know what a challenge they can be! Well, we've got good news for you!  Because they're a soft cotton terry cloth, Bottoms Up Baby Wipes have more "traction" than those smooth disposable baby wipes, which makes the clean up process more "efficient."

Here’s how easy it is to use our reusable baby wipes for this kind of diaper:

  • Use the front of the diaper to do the "heavy lifting" part of the clean up

  • Finish the job with our natural, eco friendly baby wipes

  • Place the dirty baby wipes into the mesh bag insert in your dirty wipes container

  • Next time you do laundry, grab the mesh bag, loosen the drawstring and toss it in the washing machine

  • When the wash is finished, pull out the clean wipes and put them into a fresh container of clean essential oil solution and use them all over again!

Tips for Preserving our Natural Resources

Monday, October 19, 2009 by Jovanni Ishaan

Preserve our natural resources by following these tips which save water, electricity and paper.

Open windows: If the temperature is warm outside, regulate your inside temperature by opening up windows. Fresh air will also rejuvenate you and your entire household.

Water your garden with your leftovers: If you have leftover water from cooking, use it to water your plants outside instead of throwing it down the drain.

Check for leaks: Check your windows for insulation leaks and your faucets for water leaks which can waste electricity and water.

Use biodegradable cups and utensils: For parties and snack time, keep a stash of biodegradable plates and utensils handy.  For smaller children, consider using chemical free baby products such as non toxic baby bottles to store beverages in.

Reusable napkins: Consider setting out reusable napkins that you can wash whenever you have a snack or meal.  This will drastically cut down the costs of having to constantly buy one-time use paper napkins.

Reusable baby wipes: If you have small children, consider using eco friendly baby wipes, cotton baby wipes or cloth baby wipes over disposable.  Doing so will benefit your wallet, your baby and the environment by reducing excess waste in our landfills.

Use the right light bulbs:  Use "green" light bulbs such as compact fluorescent and Energy Star bulbs.

Use both sides of the paper:  Encourage your children to use both sides of the paper when doing their homework assignments.

FAQ of the Day: What Do I Do First?

Tuesday, October 13, 2009 by Jovanni Ishaan

With our products nearly in stock for shipment, we thought it would be a great idea to post a FAQ that will help all of our customers and potential customers learn more about our all-in-one, eco friendly baby wipes kit.

What do I do first?

This question covers the instructions for the initial use of our reusable baby wipes kit.

  • To use, you'll first need to fill the fresh washable baby wipes container with about one inch of cold or room temperature water and add 4-5 drops of the Fresh Wipes Essential Oil blend

  • Then, you'll need to add the soft cloth baby wipes to the container and presto – they are ready to use!

  • Next, prepare the Dirty Wipes container by adding approximately 2 inches of cold or room temp water and 4-5 drops of the Dirty Wipes Essential Oil blend to the container to store the dirty wipes in

  • Once you have used the wipes, place them inside the clever mesh bag in the Dirty Wipes container and there is no need to touch them again!
